LIBRARY BOOK DOOR DELIVERY
Community Responsiveness Team

  • Monday to Friday 1 pm to 4 pm (by appointment), service may be suspended at any time
  • Please refrain from using the library if you or anyone in your family has Covid-19
  • Must have library card and present it when you pick up books and when you request
  • Please follow Covid-19 protocols when you come to the library door, watch for lines on the sidewalk
  • 10 item limit including holds – no kits, no equipment
  • 1 seven-day book and 1 seven-day movie per library card (fast fiction and fast flicks)
  • Items will be given to patron in a blue bag but must be returned in book drop in NO BAG
  • Requests through phone 780-361-4446 or email library@wetaskiwin.ca
  • Please INCLUDE your library BARCODE in your email request or have ready when you call to request
  • This will be a limited service, meaning items available at the Wetaskiwin Public Library only; we do not have access to items from other libraries and items returned will not be checked in for a minimum of 72 hours
  • Backpacks, equipment and some other items will not be available
  • Library items be returned at any time to the WETASKIWIN PUBLIC LIBRARY ONLY
  • Holds may NOT be placed online but Tracpac can be used to help search for Wetaskiwin items
  • Items available are: ALL BOOKS, MAGAZINES, MOVIES, VIDEO GAMES, AUDIO BOOKS, LARGE PRINT BOOKS

*** Patrons can request a selection of materials by providing a genre, topic or potential authors of interest. (Please note that while we will do our best to pick items for you and your family, but we cannot guarantee that the content will meet your expectations. Parents should review items before giving them to their children to ensure they match their own family’s values.)


HOW TO FIND ITEMS FOR REQUEST
Community Responsiveness Team

  • Go to tracpac.ab.ca online.
  • In the upper left-hand corner, under the LIBRARY drop down arrow choose WETASKIWIN PUBLIC LIBRARY
  • In the ‘Quick library search’ box type the name of the item you are looking for.
  • Example: Superman Returns DVD
  • Then to narrow the search to Wetaskiwin Public Library items only, select Wetaskiwin Public Library from the left-hand side menu under ASSIGNED BRANCH

***Wetaskiwin items will appear first in the list if you have followed the previous instructions correctly.

  • Choose the item you are looking for from the options, then click ‘WHERE IS IT’
  • If our library does not appear in the list, you cannot order it as this time.
  • If Wetaskiwin Public Library appears in the list and is checked ‘in’ you may email or call us to request the item.
  • If an item is checked in and you request it, you still may not get it, if someone requests it before you, this is not a perfect system, but it is all we have right now.

I HAVE MY LIBRARY ITEMS WHAT NOW

  • You will be given your library items in a blue disposable bag; you should leave the items in this bag until you wish to use them.
  • Always wash your hands before and after handling library items
  • All items have been thoroughly cleaned and isolated so there is no risk of Covid-19, you do not need to use gloves to read the books, but you may.
  • Please do not cough or sneeze in the items and try to limit the number of people who handle library items
  • When ready to return your library items, please place items in the drop box at the library but DO NOT put items in a bag or any container
  • Your items will not be checked in right away, they will be isolated and sanitized 48 to 72 hours later

***You can only return your items to Wetaskiwin Public Library – NO WHERE ELSE!
