The Wetaskiwin Public Library offers a variety of children's programs. Please see below for a listing of our ongoing programs. Unless otherwise noted, all programs are FREE of charge. If you have any questions, please contact the library.

Winter/Spring Programs 

Baby Bookworms


Join us for a morning of baby lap time, stories, rhymes, songs and actives.
Mondays, January 14th – May 27th @ 10:30 am

No stories February 18th or April 22nd  Audience: 6 – 23 months with a parent/ caregiver

Fun with Food


Need an after school snack? Come and create food crafts like Cat-in-the-Hat cookies, bears on a beach and many more. The Library will not assume any liability for adverse reactions to foods consumed, or items one may come in contact with while eating at the library.

Tuesdays, January 15th _May 28th @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm  Audience: 5 – 14 years of age

Classic Stories with Cuddles & Cookies


Get cozy, sit back and relax with stories and snuggles before bed.

Wednesdays, January 16th – May 29th @ 6:45 pm  Audience: 2 – 10 years of age

Library Lego & Kit Play


Join us for creative Lego building and kit play. What is kit play you ask? Check out all of the hands-on activities we have besides Lego, like Kinetic sand, Magnet tiles and board games. 

Thursdays, January 17th – May 30th @ 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm

 Audience: 4 – 99 years of age

Stories and Crafts


Enjoy a story followed by a themed craft or activity. Watch for Indigenous themed programming throughout and celebrate local culture.

Fridays, January 18st – May 31st @ 10:30 am

Audience: 2 – 6 years of age No stories April 19th  

Easter Egg Hunt


The Easter Bunny is stopping by the library this year. Come with your Easter basket and collect chocolate treats, followed by an Easter movie with popcorn.

Saturday, April 20th @ 10:00 am

Green Things Grow


Come and decorate a flower pot and plant a seed. Take it home and watch as your plant grows.
